Rainforest Experience

Explore the collection at Adelaide Botanic Garden including plants in Botanic Park and the fascinating temperate rainforest, held within the Bicentennial Conservatory.

Students will be led along the trail and learn about the different layers and rich biodiversity of rainforests.

Throughout the trail, students will be challenged to think about how plants and animals have adapted to live in the extreme environment of a rainforest. Consider geographical climates and how rainforests in Australia, and around the world, are vital to the health of the planet.

Students will:

  • Observe how plants and animals have adapted to suit the rainforest environment
  • Experience the different layers of a rainforest and understand the function of each
  • Understand the environmental importance of rainforests
