Due to the extreme heat forecast for Saturday 22 February, the Bicentennial Conservatory, where In Full Colour: Dale Chihuly is held, will be CLOSED from 2pm to ensure the safety of visitors, staff and volunteers. It will reopen for Chihuly Nights.

Upcoming road closures for WOMADelaide

With WOMADelaide just around the corner, we wanted to make visitors aware of the various road closures and carpark disruptions around Adelaide Botanic Garden. 

Plane Tree Drive will be closed to all vehicles with no parking and no through access on the following dates:

  • Thursday 20 February and Friday 21 February: Plane Tree Drive (Zone 1-6) will be closed from 6pm.
  • From Monday 24 February: Botanic Park closed to the public
  • Monday 3 March – Thursday 13 March: Plane Tree Drive (Zone 1-6) , Frome Park, Speakers Corner will be closed to all vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians.
  • Friday 7 March - Tuesday 11 March: the State Herbarium car park (Zone 7 - next to Rose Garden) on Hackney Road, will also be closed for WOMADelaide.
  • Friday 14 March: Parking, cyclist and pedestrian access on Plane Tree Drive, Frome Park and Speakers Corner will return to normal.
  • Saturday 15 March: Botanic Park reopens.
  • Monday 17 March - Thursday 20 March: Plane Tree Drive closures overnight. 

This means you will not be able to access carparking from these locations for Chihuly Nights.

There will be limited spaces available in the State Herbarium car park (Zone 7 - next to Rose Garden, immediately left as you enter Plane Tree Drive), apart from March 7 - 11.

During these dates and to avoid disruption to your plans, we highly recommend you consider public transport. 

The Botanic Gardens Tram Stop is approximately 100 metres from the Main Gate on North Terrace, and if taken from the Adelaide Train Station, is free. 

The Garden can also be accessed by various bus routes, please check Adelaide Metro website for public transport services and timetables. 

There will also be limited carparks available in the East End, please visit the City of Adelaide’s interactive carparking map for options available. 

We would also like to acknowledge that there may be noise disruption from WOMADelaide on Botanic Park during 7 – 10 March.
