Science at the Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium incorporates an internationally recognised herbarium where more than 1 million preserved plant specimens are stored and used for research. Our Seed Bank has more than 85% of the states threatened plant species' seeds stored for use in future recovery actions when populations are put at risk or are in decline.
