Volunteer opportunities
Are you passionate about plants? Serious about science? Keen to share knowledge with our next generation? Join our dedicated team of volunteers and immerse yourself in the enchanting beauty of nature, while contributing to the conservation and preservation of precious plant species at the Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium.
To be eligible to volunteer at the Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium you'll need to:
- Be 18 years of age or older to apply.
- Have a current Working with Children Check (or be willing to undergo a screening).
Chihuly in the Botanic Garden
The Chihuly in the Botanic Garden exhibition event offers volunteers the opportunity to engage visitors and explore the work of the world’s most celebrated contemporary glass artist, Dale Chihuly
Museum of Economic Botany
The Museum of Economic Botany offers volunteers the opportunity to engage visitors and explore the valuable cultural collections and temporary art exhibitions within the Museum.
Education
Our education volunteers support programs for school students, children and family groups at the Adelaide Botanic Garden.
Horticulture
Our horticulture volunteers support staff undertaking garden maintenance work in the garden.
Science and Conservation
The Science and Conservation program undertakes diverse activities to conserve flora and support the management of natural resources in South Australia.
