Botanic Park/Tainmuntilla is directly north of Adelaide Botanic Garden, and south of Adelaide Zoo.
It can be accessed any time from:
Hackney Road to the east
Frome Road to the west
Or by walking through Adelaide Botanic Garden, when it is open.
Botanic Park can be accessed by bus and tram. Please check Adelaide Metro for public transport services into the city centre.
Bike racks can be found outside entrances to Adelaide Botanic Garden.
Bikes can be ridden around Botanic Park but please be mindful of visitors and cars.
Ticketed car parking is available on Plane Tree Drive, in front of the Goodman Building and State Herbarium (adjacent to the Rose Garden, closest to the Hackney Gate), and just north of the National Wine Centre of Australia.
All car parks are accessed from Hackney Road.
Our ticket machines are cashless and paperless - these machines will only accept credit or debit card payments.
To use the machines, input your vehicle registration number plate into the machine when prompted, select the length of time you would like to park for and tap your credit/debit card.

Parking fees apply from 8am - 10pm on Monday - Saturday.
There is free parking on Sundays and public holidays.
Accessible parking spaces are available within all 4-hour parking zones and are free of charge for people displaying a disability parking permit. For visits longer than 4 hours, permit holders are welcome to park in 10-hour bays, and can pay half the ticketed price for the duration of the stay.

Bus tours/groups, please note that bus layover zones and loading zones are available in zone 4 for drop off only. For longer parking, please contact reception.
All funds collected from ticketed parking are used to support conservation, education and horticulture at the Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium.
Free guided walks are led by the Friends of the Botanic Gardens guides when you can enjoy a leisurely stroll and take in the history and significant plantings of the Park
Guided walks take place every Monday at 2pm (except Christmas Day).
No booking is necessary.

Please note all guided walks are cancelled on days forecast to reach 36 degrees or more.
Whilst there are no toilets located in Botanic Park, there are toilets in adjacent Adelaide Botanic Garden, which can be accessed when the Garden is open.
The closest toilets are those found between the Friends' Gate and Conservatory Gate.
These include accessible toilets, family rooms and a Changing Places facility (which requires an MLAK key).
Botanic gardens and Botanic Park are different from your local park in that they're living museums, filled with plant collections with conservation value. For this reason some activities are not permitted as they have the potential to damage or destroy plants.
Please respect the Park and help us to protect plants, people and wildlife.
Dogs are allowed in to Botanic Park, but they are not allowed in Adelaide Botanic Garden. While in Botanic Park they must remain on a lead and in full control. Please remember to bring waste bags on your visit and pick up after your dog.

BBQs and portable gas cookers are not permitted in Botanic Park
Smoking or vaping is not permitted in Botanic Park
Do not drive a vehicle on to the Park.
Do not damage or remove plants or enter garden beds
Please do not play ball or throwing games, or climb on the trees in Botanic Park, as the botanical collection has conservation value.
Do not swim in or enter lakes, ponds or any waterways.
