If you're heading up to Mount Lofty Botanic Garden in the coming months, you'll immediately be greeted by a sea of reds, oranges, yellows, and browns. The stunning array of colors and the crisp, fresh air will have you falling head over heels for this magical season.
Each year more and more people are heading up to the Garden to experience the Autumn colours. We are predicting the peak time for Autumn colours in 2025 will by mid-late April. Stay tuned to our social media for updates.
Here is the important information you need to know to plan your visit.
Monday - Friday: 8:30am - 4pm
Weekends and Public Holidays in April: 8:30am - 5pm
Weekends and Public Holidays in May: 8:30am - 4pm
Due to the extremely high numbers of visitors to the Garden, finding a car park can be a challenge. We recommend visiting from Monday - Friday rather than weekends to avoid the peak visitor rush if you can. The garden is also often quieter early in the day.
If you are happy to take the steep walk down, the Upper car park tends to have more opportunity to find a car park. The upper entrance can be accessed via Mount Lofty Summit Road, Crafers.
The lower entrance is accessed via Lampert Road, off Piccadilly Road, Crafers.
We will have traffic controllers in place on the busier days, and we ask visitors to remain patient and be considerate to other visitors, local residents and the botanical collections.
Bracegirdles will be parking their bus at the Garden on weekends, public holidays and school holidays during the Autumn season from 9am - 3pm (depending on weather). You will find them in the Lower car park, accessed of Lampert Road.
They will offer a selection of their signature hot and iced chocolates plus award winning coffee, savoury and sweet treats and ice cream.
We love to see the gorgeous photos our visitors take, so be sure to tag us on Facebook and Instagram.
If you're filming or taking photos for commercial purposes, you will need a permit. More information, and the permit application form, can be found HERE
Our regulations don't permit members of the public to use drones in the Garden, so thankyou for leaving them at home.
